Madi's Second Birthday

Miss Madilyn Claire turned 2 on January 7th. Her birthday was on a Saturday and we had made a trip back to Boise for the weekend. Her Grandma Michelle and Papa Leon came down to Boise to give Madi a special birthday present. The got her a sweet little pink trike.

She really loved it!. Thanks Grandma and Papa.  We had a small birthday party planned at a place called Jump Time. My mom and Grandma, and Jack made a trip down from Twin Falls to join us and a friend from my old job met us there with her son. The kids had so much fun!

And of course we can't forget the people who helped out with Natalie! Papa Leon and Great-Grandma Mary! Thank you!

A New Year, A New House

Well it has almost been one month, and a lot has gone on in the past month! We had a great Christmas. On December 22nd we went to Twin Falls to spend a few days with my family. We ended up going to Burley to look for a house to rent. We found on that we really like and went ahead and rented it. It is out in the county and has a perfect view of the ski resort. It has a huge yard and I can't wait until the weather warms up and we can use the big fire pit in the backyard.
We had a great Christmas celebration with my family and the girls loved all of their presents. Madi got a rocking horse from her great grandma and has named it Peebody! We have no idea where the name came from but she love to feed him and ride him! She was so happy to get it!

On Christmas Eve we headed off to McCall. We were so excited to get there because we were having a Halibut fish fry with fresh french fries and cheese soup. The food was so delicious and I was so stuffed afterwards. During the night Madi got sick. So when we all woke up on Christmas morning she was sound asleep. Matt went into the room and told her Santa came, she smiled rolled over and went back to sleep. I felt so bad for her. It was 9:30 before she got up. But she seemed to be feeling better and was happy as can be. We had fun opening presents for hours! Madi got a 4-wheeler from Santa and loved it. Natalie got a piano toy she can sit in from Grandma Michelle and Papa Leon. She loves the thing. I got a bike and trailer so I can take the girls for rides in Burley, and Matt got tools! It was a great Christmas morning.

After opening presents we hit the road again headed to Riggins to go see Matt's dad! We traveled so much during the holidays, it was very exhausting but we were happy to be able to see everyone! We had a great little break over the holidays, and we finished 2011 off with another move to Burley. Stayed tuned for Madi's Birthday celebration!

It's Been Way to Long!!!

Hello everyone. The Basye house has been so crazy the last couple of weeks. I stopped working and now get to stay home with the girls. I feel busier than when I was working 40 hours.  We have been busy with family Christmas parties and getting ready for Matt's graduation! Well yesterday was finally the day and he graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelors of Engineering in Construction Management. I am so proud of him and all of his hard work. Here are some pictures from over the past couple of weeks....

Family Time... and Yummy Food

This past week has been busy, sad, crazy, busy, fun, and YUMMY! Last Saturday Matt and I and the girls drove up to McCall for the day. On the way up there we came around a corner and found a crash between a truck and a small car. We pulled over and I got out to help. I immediately jumped into the   of the car and held on to the passenger. The driver of the car and the passenger were students at U of I and were driving down for the holidays. It was a blizzard out and by the time help got there I had been holding this girl for 1.5 hrs. As the ambulance pulled away and Matt and I continued up to McCall I was sick to my stomach for these girls well being. Well on Sunday while at work I was informed that the girl I had tried so hard to help had died during the night. I was heartbroken. I really don't even know how to explain how I truly felt, I have been on bad calls working on the ambulance, but this was different. It was unexpected and I didn't plan on helping anyone that day. So the beginning of this week just sort of stunk. I know I did everything I could but I just hurt for her family, her friends, and the man who couldn't avoid hitting the car.

On a happier note, Wednesday we went to Matt's mom's house, and had prime rib and twice baked potatoes for dinner. Two of my very favorite things. It was fun to spend time with that part of the family. Then yesterday we went to Matt's uncles house to enjoy a turkey dinner. It was fun to all be together for the afternoon and to stuff our faces with yummy food.

One last photo of the girls playing today! Sister love! Madi was playing dress ups and brought out a hat for Natalie to wear! I love them! :)
